about Melinda.

Melinda's passion for design grew from her love of fine art, handcraft and sculpture. As an undergraduate, she pursued her interest in visual design at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Her desire to work in a more hands-on capacity led her to hairdressing, which she began pursuing in 2005.

Melinda has a diverse portfolio of experience, a superior knowledge of her craft and an incredibly dedicated passion for her work.  She is most recognized for her bridal and editorial work, modern cutting and coloring techniques, and precision bangs and fringe. Ranging from hip and alternative to classic and neat, she strives to create a look that best suits her client's personal style. Melinda is well known for being approachable, enthusiastic and down to earth. She draws inspiration from fashion, nature and art and is constantly pushing boundaries to create a unique perspective on current trends.

Over nearly twelve years at her first salon, Melinda became closely connected to her community, earning outstanding reviews on Yelp and building a fiercely loyal clientele. She then spent five lovely years at Love and Mercy, working with an incredibly talented team and having regular access to advanced education. Melinda developed and implemented a foundational haircutting program for the apprentice team at Love and Mercy, dedicating much of her time to mentoring new stylists. She continues this practice of supporting other stylists in order to foster a more collaborative community.

Melinda has received training in New York City with Toni & Guy, L'oreal Professionnel and Kerastase. She has trained locally in Boston with SHU Uemura and Davines, nationally with Baxter of California and L'oreal Professionnel and internationally with Kerastase and Odile Gilbert. She has trained with Allilon, DJ Muldoon of Knowledge Destroys Fear, Kaizen education and many other notable industry educators. Her work has been featured on MarthaStewartWeddings.com, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Bangstyle, and Imagine Magazine. Melinda has also had to opportunity to work backstage with the Kerastase team at New York Fashion Week.
